Position Summary...What you'll do...About the Team: Data VenturesOur team creates reusable technologies to help with customer acquisition, onboarding, and empowering merchants, while ensuring a seamless experience for both stakeholders. We also optimize tariffs and assortment in accordance with Walmart's Everyday Low-Cost philosophy. We not only create affordability, but we also deliver customized experiences for customers across all channels - in-store, mobile app, and websites.MUST HAVE FOR CONSIDERATION:

Java, Microservices, Spring Boot, Azure, GCP, AWS, Kafka, MySQL, HIVE, Elastic SearchAs a Senior Software Engineer, Backend you will be responsible for:Building, developing, and guiding high-performing talent for the Core Services engineering team.Owning and supporting delivery for all the features for the global data engineering and platform.What You'll DoLead and participate in medium- to large-scale projects by reviewing project requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions, gathering requested information, writing, and developing code, conducting unit testing, and communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders.Collaborate with project team and cross-functional teams, troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes, ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs, and interacting with project manager to provide input on project plan.Model compliance with company policies, procedures and support company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.Create training documentation and oversee the tasks of less experienced programmers.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop scalable, high-performance software solutions.Take ownership of full-stack development, including front-end and back-end components.Utilize your expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices to create robust and efficient applications.Implement event-driven architectures using Kafka and ensure seamless integration with other systems.Work with cloud platforms such as GCP and Azure to build scalable and secure applications.Utilize the ELK stack for log analysis and monitoring of system performance.Develop and optimize queries using Big Query to analyze large datasets.Collaborate with the team to perform code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure high-quality code delivery.Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.What You'll BringA good understanding of Java and Microservices.Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Cloud (Azure/GCP/AWS), Kafka (or other messaging service), Memcached/Redis or any caching technologies, relational DBMS (MySQL, Oracle etc).Hands-on writing/reviewing design & code experience.Experience in Data pipeline engineering HUDI / DELTA, Google HIVE, Elastic Search for data migration.Understanding of product and project management space with Agile methodologies.CI/CD development environments/tools: Git, Maven, Jenkins.About Walmart Global TechImagine working in an environment where one line of code can make life easier for hundreds of millions of people.
