A law firm is seeking an Entry-Level Criminal Defense Attorney to join its dynamic team in San Jose, CA. The ideal candidate will be interested in gaining experience in criminal defense and handling complex criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levels. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with seasoned attorneys, develop litigation skills, and provide critical support to clients.Key Responsibilities

Advise clients on their legal rights and draw up legal documents related to their cases.Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and provide strategic advice following each hearing.Manage court appearances and trials, drafting motions, interviewing witnesses, and performing legal research.Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents.Manage a caseload efficiently, ensuring timely progress and resolution of each case.Provide detailed legal analysis for clients to determine possible case benefits.Gather and evaluate additional evidence to support clients' cases or argue against prosecution charges.Prepare clients for depositions, determine essential goals of case strategy, and collect information from witnesses and experts to support the client's position.Collaborate with team members, strategizing and working together on complex cases.Engage in professional development to gain experience in criminal defense.Requirements

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admitted to practice law in California or eligibility to become a member of the California Bar.Interest in gaining experience in criminal defense.Interest in handling complex federal, state, and local criminal cases.Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.High interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team.Certifications

California Bar admission (or eligibility for admission).Skills

Strong legal research and writing abilities.Effective negotiation and advocacy skills.Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide sound legal advice.Proficiency in legal case management software.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Interpersonal skills of the highest caliber, focusing on client service and teamwork.Job Location
