The National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories (NEIDL) at Boston University is part of a national network of security facilities studying infectious diseases that are or have the potential to become major public health concerns. The NEIDL is dedicated to the development of diagnostics, vaccines, and treatments to combat emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases. This position provides technical assistance and skilled administrative support to NEIDL Investigators with contract proposals from external funding agencies from initial proposal development to post-award management/final reporting and including grants post-award management/final reporting of the NEIDL Directors award portfolio. Working in a collaborative environment, serves as the expert on federal and non-federal contracting regulations, negotiations and best practices. Shares knowledge and empowers others to grow and support the NEIDL's mission. Provides expert guidance on rules and regulations; coordinating and collaborating, as necessary, with other University offices, such as the Office of General Counsel, Risk Management, Information Systems and Services, Post Award Financial Operations, Industry Contracting, Research Compliance and Controller. Works in partnership with faculty, other researchers and administrators; drives developing and implementing efficient processes and procedures.Required Skills

A Bachelor's degree is required with 5-8 years' experience. In substitute of a degree, 8-10 years' experience in grants/contract management.Maintains knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply sponsor, institutional and departmental policies.Ability to triage high volume and complex transactions and support colleagues in a deadline driven environment. Experience with all types of award mechanisms, including grants, contracts, subcontracts, cooperative agreements; project management skills and familiarity with aligned computer software knowledge.Ability to interpret policy for others and support their ability to develop these skills.Requires independent judgment and strong organizational and communication skills and customer service focus.Suitability Requirements

to be completed in accordance with Section 8, Ongoing Personnel Reliability Program, for all employees working at the NEIDL.Additional Requirements for Select Agents
