The Observability team is responsible for the infrastructure that processes telemetry data in real-time and provides insights that engineers depend on to measure, visualize, investigate, and optimize how customers experience the service.We are looking for a passionate software engineer with experience in designing, implementing, and operating large scale distributed systems and excel at collaborating with partners. Ideally, you have a background in incident management, service catalogs, request tracing systems, time series telemetry platforms, application performance management tools or log management tools.This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director, Software Engineering.ResponsibilityWrite high quality code that is easy to maintain and testDesign and build platform components needed to power the observability stackEnsure design and architecture is extensible across projects, and participate in technical design and code reviewsWork with Product Management, stakeholders and other developers to understand design requirements and provide estimates for developmentStay current with the latest observability best practices and share your findings with the teamWork as part of a cross-site development teamRaise issues proactively that might impact delivery commitmentsCoach and mentor other team members with new technologiesWhat you bring

BasicMinimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years related experience with a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent experienceExperience writing scalable web servicesExperience with state-of-the art development tools and techniquesPreferredDeep understanding of OOP/OOD principles, design patterns and data structuresStrong Java, C# or C++, object oriented design and programming skillsWage Transparency

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:California: $134,900 - $216,975 base salaryWashington and New York (including NYC metro area): $129,000 - $190,550 base salaryThis role is also eligible for bonus, equity and benefits.States Not Eligible for Employment
