Cube Root is actively seeking a motivated Project Manager with a background as a Superintendent to lead a seven (7) person construction management team to manage infrastructure projects in the $15-$30M range for the District of Columbia's St. Elizabeths East Campus Development project located in Southeast Washington DC. This person will be integrated into a larger campus construction management team that includes the management of the $434M Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center located within the St. Elizabeths East Campus.The multi-faceted position requires experience and capabilities in the following areas: Program Management, and Project Management. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Program ManagementAssist with the development of strategies associated with the planning, scheduling, and estimating of infrastructure projects that include utility and roadway construction.Provide feedback and guidance, where requested by the client, on the language and requirements included in specific portions of solicitation documents for future utility and roadway work.Project ManagementDay-to-day field management of the Infrastructure General Contractor as the Construction Manager representing the District of Columbia Department of General Services.Experience managing projects as a General Contractor or Roadway General Contractor.Experience directly managing a construction management staff of at least 5 staff members.Experience and capability to manage unit-based utility and roadway construction contracts.Experience and capability to manage Department of Transportation projects be they Washington DC, Maryland, or Virginia with Washington DC as highly preferable.Experience with managing construction to the DDOT Gold Book.Experience managing WMATA projects is preferable but not required.Experience and Capability to lead and manage the day-to-day quantity measurements of the General Contractor installed work and the Quality Assurance team that includes a Quality Assurance Superintendent, Civil Inspector and General Inspector.Develop independent third-party estimates as may be needed by the Client.Experience managing the change order, RFI and submittal process.Experience managing the project budget and status of unit line item cost remaining.Experience managing and running progress meetings, pre-construction meetings and field meetings.Skill at planning upcoming field activities to uncover and mitigate challenges.Skill with Project Teams or similar MIS for construction management.Experience creating and managing traffic plans for communication to major stakeholders as needed for coordination of future work.Position Requirements

Must-Have Skills/Experience (Including any required Certifications):BS in Civil Engineering or related field15 + years of progressively increasing responsibility in construction management.Solid technical understanding of roadway and utility construction.Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills, including preparation of letters, memos, proposal, reports, etc.Experience in managing construction projects and project delivery.Certifications in Construction Management, Project Management or P.E.Construction Management of DDOT projects.High level communication skills to communicate in verbal and written form to major stakeholders.High level people skills to manage project challenges and relationships with key Stakeholders.Experience in and ability to manage and negotiate change orders while maintaining positive relations with the General Contractor.Preferred Skills/Experience:Construction Management of WMATA projects.BENEFITS:
