Chief Medical Officer Position:

( This is a Part-Time position)

Cullman Regional is seeking a Chief Medical Officer to join the senior leadership team and contribute to the growth and development of the organization. The position provides medical oversight, expertise and leadership to ensure the delivery of affordable quality healthcare services. The CMO leads clinical and quality initiatives supporting the provision of consistent clinical performance and practice standards across the hospital. The CMO also plays a significant role in quality and utilization analysis and works to improve physician practice patterns and physician relations. Facilitates strong communication and collaboration between the Medical/APP staff, administration, and governing board to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of high-quality medical care in alignment with the mission and vision. The CMO reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer of the Hospital. This position is a 0.4 FTE/ 2 days per week.

Responsibilities:

Lead the clinical direction of the organization.

Participate in senior management business and clinical strategy development and rollout.

Develop and implement innovative clinical programs including collaboration with strategic business partners.

Keep apprised of emerging models in health care delivery; identify and define new and innovative strategies to achieve business goals and objectives.

Manage the achievement of consistent clinical performance and practice standards across the facility to ensure superior clinical outcomes and unparalleled patient experience.

Oversee and collaborate with medical staff leaders in performance improvement, patient safety initiatives and overall clinical satisfaction improvement.

Work with medical staff on clinical resource management, appropriate document standards, utilization and quality issues, and quality improvement activities.

Serve as interface with the CEO between Medical Staff and Administration.

With the COO provide direction for Physician recruiting and activities associated with bringing new physicians to the community.

Develop and implement strategic goals related to quality improvement, management programs and accreditation standards.

Resolve patient, family, or nurse complaints regarding medical staff and/or hospital.

Provide clinical guidance, support and education.

Promote collaboration with both internal and external healthcare team members.

Education & Experience:

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) current unrestricted license: Required. Must obtain Alabama license.

Master's degree in business or related field: Preferred.

10+ years of experience in clinical practice: Preferred.

Experience as a CMO: Required.
