General Manager

Reports to: Area Manager

Job Summary:

The Store Manager will oversee and manage the daily operations of the shop. Oversee and provide leadership as it relates to sales, employees, guest service and satisfaction, food and beverage quality, cleanliness and sanitation.

Management Responsibilities:

Hires and trains restaurant staff. Continually strive to develop staff.

Organizes and oversees the staff schedules.

Control cash by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures.

Ensure budget costs are controlled for FOH and BOH areas. Capable of reaching budget targets and creating strategies of improving costs where applicable.

Ensure all systems are implemented and utilized, including daily line check, opening and closing checklists, waste bucket, inventory, ticket time tracking, recipe cards, cogs workbook, prep sheet, par/pull sheets, and other applicable kitchen systems.

Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with shop policy.

Leadership Responsibilities:

Provide overall leadership and direct supervision of staff in accordance with Stories’ vision, expectations, and direction.

Oversees the day-to-day workflow of staff on duty and fills in where needed to ensure guest service standards are met.

Understand completely all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, processes, and guidelines.

Ensures that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service.

Ensures that all food and beverages are consistently prepared and served according to the recipes, portioning and serving standards

Duties/Responsibilities:

Manages daily aspects of the store and its staff to ensure positions are covered and customer needs are met.

Oversees food & beverage preparation, understanding compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards.

Helps identify areas to increase productivity and efficiency.

Ensures customer satisfaction with all aspects of the shop and dining experience.

Handles customer complaints, resolving issues in a diplomatic and courteous manner.

Ensures compliance with alcoholic beverage regulations.

Manages inventory and purchases food and supplies and collaborates with Assistant Managers.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Strong management and leadership skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.

Excellent time management skills with the ability to assign and delegate tasks.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Familiarity with food handling, safety, and other restaurant guidelines.

Ability to fill in all positions of the shop.

Strong technical aptitude.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Have knowledge of service, food & beverage industry: management experience preferred.

Successful completion of Stories’ training videos required.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift 25 pounds.

Ability to move quickly with frequent bending, stretching, squatting, reaching, twisting

Able to stand for long periods of time.

Possess exceptional grooming habits and adhere to dress code policy.

Ability to communicate with guests and other staff in a friendly, inviting manner that represents Stories’ standards appropriately.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
