Job Summary:
Responsible for managing the maintenance and repair of all Juice plant equipment.
Responsibilities
Ensure that all production equipment is maintained and repaired in a manner which meets company standards and minimizes downtime.
Hire, train, develop and manage all maintenance department employees.
Assess, develop and prioritize the scope of projects; assigns department personnel accordingly.
Solicits and reviews bids and quotes from vendors; selects and manages vendor work.
Purchases parts and supplies for maintenance department.
Coordinates with production supervisors the scheduling of repair and maintenance work.
Maintains the minimum spare parts inventory while ensuring minimum
Works closely with Plant Scheduler in developing and scheduling preventative maintenance.
May assist in repair and maintenance activities.
Develops and manages department budget.
Review and approve time sheets.
Write and deliver performance reviews and recommend salary changes.
Timely advise to address personnel issues with Plant Manager and Human Resources.
Process all injury reports and correct any unsafe work conditions as soon as possible.
Maintains a clean and organized work area that promotes safety and efficiency.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Ensure compliance with applicable quality system standards and the unit’s food safety and security programs in support of essential manufacturing strategies and practices.
Serve as Alternate to Director of Maintenance on the JFI SQF Team
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical/mechanical engineering field and 5-7 years supervisory experience in similar environment (food manufacturing) managing multi-craft maintenance personnel. Knowledge and experience may be substituted for degree. Basic PC skills with spreadsheet and word-processing software preferred.
Knowledge of electrical, mechanical and programming repairs required.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to effectively interface with all levels of employees in the work environment.
Individual is detail oriented and organized; able to manage multiple projects concurrently, set priorities and follow through.
Strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
Able to work varied shifts, including weekends.
Basic PC skills with spreadsheet and word-processing software preferred
