JOB SUMMARY:

Under supervision, this position provides direct support to the Theatre Manager. Handle all aspects of ticketing and patron services operation for the McAlpin Fine Arts Center and Hallstrom Planetarium Box Office. Work to maximize both the revenue and patron experience satisfaction through smart, effective and efficient ticketing operations, aligned with marketing and sales strategies. Facilitates positive relationships with IRSC students, faculty, staff and community patrons.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Run day-to day operations of the Box Office, serve as the primary point of contact for all ticketing activities, processes and reporting. This includes but is not limited to: Ticket sales for all Performing Arts and Planetarium venues - via phone, on-line and in person. POS cash and credit card transactions, maintain high level of accuracy with all monetary transactions. Balance end of day sales; run ticket reports. Reconcile daily and weekly ticket sales with cashier's office. (20%)Answer a wide range of phone calls and in person questions relating to the McAlpin Theatre, Hallstrom Planetarium and Indian River State College. Assist staff and patrons with escalated issues that arise concerning show or ticketing related issues. Resolve patron's concerns in a timely manner. Troubleshoot recurring issues. (20%)Master all aspects of the ticketing system. Develop, implement, and build subscription seasons, packages, individual performances and auxiliary items into ticketing system. Build and maintain fees, offers, coupon codes, etc. Remain knowledgeable of ticketing system upgrades, implement changes and troubleshooting. Keep abreast of innovations that follow industry trends (15%)Create operating and training guides on systems and departmental procedures. Train ticketing staff to accurately operate the computer ticketing system and other non-ticketing systems as needed. (15%)CRM (Customer Relationship Management): Prepare and provide pre and post show ticket sales and revenue reports as requested. Provide support in the creation of comprehensive and ongoing reports of marketing campaigns, promotions and activity regarding sales and audience attendance. Assist in audience surveys, collect and collate patron marketing data. (10%)Assume ownership and maintain the Subscriber/Patron database, profiles and critical Customer Relationship Management information (10%)Completes other duties and responsibilities as assigned. (10%)QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma or the equivalent required, Associate in Arts or Bachelor's Degree preferredMinimum (3) years' customer service experienceMinimum (3) years' work experience in cashiering, retail, and/or ticket salesMust have customer service mind set and attitude with strong and effective verbal and written communication skills.Experience in, passion for, or interest in the Performing Arts.Position requires flexible hours with mandatory nights and weekends during performance season.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel with ability and willingness to learn new technology and processes (experience in Adobe a plus)Able to identify and prioritize critical issues and resolve conflicts in a positive and professional manner.Strong sense of initiative and ability to proactively offer solutions to problems, streamline processes and contribute to overall success of the department.Ability to perform well under high pressure/ stressful situations and interact with the public while maintaining a high level of tact, diplomacy and a professional demeanor at all times.Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently.Command of basic bookkeeping and accounting skills.Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.Ability to work independently as well as be part of a team.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
