Plumber (260 Days)

Description Perform plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installation of all plumbing fixtures and systems.Perform and unstop various drains for fixtures, sanitary & grease waste lines, storm sewers, and building sewers.Maintain accurate records for labor, materials, work order completion, project orders, manufacture's technical data sheets, material safety data sheets, and other Maintenance records.Maintain inventory of assigned tools, equipment, and vehicles as assigned daily, inform supervisor of any known problems immediately and provide documentation during inspection and/or inventory of tools, equipment, and vehicle as required. Follow District safety guidelines, using good safety practices.Communicate effectively with principals, department heads, district staff, and all other auxiliary services personnel in a professional manner in all phases necessary to locate, correct, repair, and complete each job or project.Employee will be required to respond to after hour/emergency callouts, be placed on an emergency call-out rotation, and flex work hours to accommodate job completions.Identify and control hazardous working conditions and ensure all safety precautions have been taken before proceeding.Report observed maintenance problems that require action of other Maintenance Departments.QualificationsRequired High School Diploma or GED.Required Valid Texas Journeyman Plumbing License.Required Valid Texas Driver's License and a record that meets the District's standard.Ability to pass an asbestos physical and obtain certification within 90 days after hire date.Demonstrated knowledge of municipal plumbing codes.Must be able to perform responsibilities under general supervision and have organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position.Demonstrated skills in accurate record keeping and computer data base management, including work orders and material procurement.Must pass a Dallas ISD random drug test.
