The

Bankruptcy Specialist

performs routine legal work requiring basic to intermediate knowledge of legal procedures, methods and terminology by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:

Prepares and/or audits documents for accuracy as to financial data and bankruptcy case information and in compliance with court and client regulationsAnalysis of bankruptcy petitions and plans to determine the correct course of action based on intentExecutes agreements and/or claims on behalf of the clientAudits third party vendor for accuracy as to document information, assembly and redaction of exhibits; and filing claims and/or agreements with the courtIn instances where the third party vendor is not permitted to file documents, electronically file claims and or agreements with the courtContacts clients, attorneys and courts for resolution of outstanding issues, further instructions, status updates, and additional information and documentation, and to negotiate agreements or resolve claim issuesMonitors and invoices client billingsManages client and court deadlines and ensures adherencePerforms data entry to update accountsReviews files, mail, and legal documents to gather information and locate missing or incomplete recordsTakes inbound calls, directs calls, and conveys messages, as requiredReviews, notates and distributes mail and incoming work to appropriate partiesComplete all required training applicable to assigned positionAdditional duties as requested or requiredQualifications:

High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)1-3 years of bankruptcy, relevant legal and/or financial institution experience1-3 years of relevant office experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experienceKnowledge of legal processes is a plusProfessional demeanor with clients and co-workersGood oral and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and sense of urgency to meet deadlinesMust have basic proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)Pacer experience a plusKnowledge of office practices and procedures; computer operation; word-processing software; internet researchCompensation and Benefits:
