Job Summary:
This position is responsible for performing routine and extensive painting repairs and remodels throughout the facility inside and outside.

Job Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) requiredKnowledge of types of paints, varnishes, and stainsAbility to cut/repair sheetrockStrong planning and organizational skillsExcellent verbal and written communications skillsExcellent customer service skillsAbility to manage multiple tasksMinimum computer knowledge requiredAbility to lift up to 75 lbs.Responsibilities:
Cover off surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protectionScrape, sand, prime, or seal surfaces prior to paintingClean walls to ensure proper adherenceCalculate amounts of required materials for projectMix, match, and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishesApply paint to surfaces including walls, floors, doors, and cabinets applying touchups or second coats as required and/or according to directionsFill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knivesErect scaffolding, movable staging, and various rigging to gain access to difficult area; move furniture and equipment as necessaryRemove fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps, and electric switch covers prior to painting then reinstalling them after paintingRemove paint splatters when finished as well as clean up all equipment, including brushes and spray gunsWork with ladders to reach high ceilings or wallsAdditional duties as assigned
