Job Description:
Summary:
This individual will be in charge of supporting and managing crews to install electrical systems for large mission critical construction projects. They will be involved in managing multiple phases of the project, taking the project from pre-construction through final acceptance. Their main focus will be to implement a safe, and productive work environment that successfully completes company goals.
Directly responsible for project labor, safety and job set up. This will include vendor management, quality control oversight and active role in safety planning.
This role will be for 2nd shift.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and manage several Foreman on conducting work safely, productively, and with a focus on quality.Interface with on-site electrical crews and electrical project manager to resolve problems, ensure quality of construction, etc. in support of overall project schedule.Ensure project electrical activities comply with company and contract requirements and support overall construction schedule (Primavera P6).Provide technical support for electrical construction effort including participation in planning and design; interpretation of design; application of construction methods; resolution and documentation of deign conflicts; etc.Assist with controlling job costs and production budgets.Respond to issues quickly; proactive in problem solving; handles multiple tasks.Set a culture of 24/7 Safety for your crews.Assists the Project Manager in updating the project schedule, and activity codes.Develop 90-day and 3-week look ahead schedules for crews.Conduct pre-planning and goal setting with crews to asses productivity.Oversee costs associated with your work items.Coordinate manpower, heavy equipment, tooling and material needs for crews.Coordinate and schedule subcontractors.Education and Experience:
3+ years similar construction Field Management experience.Degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management( A plus but not required)Technical experience progressing through the ranks as a Journeyman to a Foreman to a Superintendent.Previous work with IBEW a plusSkills and Abilities:
Must be able to understand, interpret, and consistently apply safety laws, company policies/standards, and collective bargaining agreements.Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities.Must possess superior communication and interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.).Significant business acumen is required.Ability to build trust and achieve results with clients and company team members.Ability to plan strategically over the entire span of a project and foresee and mitigate obstacles to performance.Read drawings, interpret work specifications and work scopes.Strong work ethic to complete tasks as a team in a high-quality manner.
