JOB SUMMARYThe Tooling Technician ensures machinery is set up, works properly, and conforms with (and can produce materials that conform with) company quality, quantity, and efficiency standards. They are responsible for the daily maintenance, upkeep and repair of all dies, fixtures and tools. Ensure that dies/sizers are always in working condition. Facilitate tooling set up, movement, and storage for line operators. Maximize rotation and machine up time efficiency through additional tooling needs, machine settings, and prestaging set up plugs to increase pounds manufactured for all lines.ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES•Maximize rotation and machine up time efficiency through planning and organizing of tooling needs •Maintain organization of set up and tool and die storage •Maintain tooling through proper maintenance channels when required•Disassemble dies/sizers/mixers to prepare for cleaning, repair and storage in appropriate inventory locations•Light tooling maintenance •Maintenance requests and staging for repair needs•Maintain organization of tooling storage locations•Verify and adjust extruders to optimum settings for specific tooling•Follow all safety procedures and support all safety projectsSHIFT HOURS7:00 AM - 3:30 PM M-F Requirements•Part number reading•Job reading•Reading of measurement tools- including tape measure, radius gauge, temp gun•Extrusion operation•Forklift certificate•High School diploma or equivalent preferred•Strong mechanical aptitude•Experience working with machine tools and powered machine tools required•Knowledge of basic electrical a plus•Good communication and judgement skills •Valid driver's license•Bilingual English/Spanish a plusEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE•Highschool diploma or GED•2+ years experience in manufacturingPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS•Standing, lifting, bending•Ability to lift 50 lbsBENIFITS•40 Hours of Vacation time (PTO)•Eligible for benefits following 30 days of employment (Medical, Dental, Vision)•401K matching; 100% matching up to 3%, 50% matching up to 5%
