The ideal candidate will have excellent communication
and organizational skills, a passion for providing exceptional guest experiences, and the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere from the moment guests arrive.
Responsibilities:
Warmly greet guests as they arrive at the restaurant, providing a positive first impression and friendly demeanor.Manage the reservation system efficiently, including taking reservations, confirming bookings, and organizing seating arrangements to optimize table turnover and guest flow.Maintain a tidy and welcoming reception area, ensuring cleanliness and organization at all times.Communicate effectively with guests regarding wait times, table availability, and any special requests or accommodations needed.Coordinate with servers, bartenders, and management to ensure smooth seating and dining transitions.Assist in managing the guest waiting list during peak dining hours, prioritizing reservations and walk-in guests appropriately.Monitor dining room activity and anticipate guest needs, proactively addressing any issues or concerns that may arise.Provide accurate information about the restaurant, including menus, specials, promotions, and upcoming events.Collaborate with the restaurant team to uphold high standards of service, cleanliness, and hospitality.Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down the host/hostess station, organizing menus, and restocking supplies.Qualifications:
Previous experience as a host/hostess or in a customer service role, preferably in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.Strong organizational abilities, including time management, multitasking, and attention to detail.Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, especially during busy dining periods.Knowledge of reservation systems and basic computer skills for managing bookings and guest information.Enthusiasm for hospitality and a genuine desire to create memorable experiences for guests.Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
