Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Software Tester with a strong background in Department of Defense (DoD) software testing. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of testing methodologies, tools, and processes, and will be proficient in ensuring software quality and compliance with DoD standards. This role involves leading testing efforts, managing a team of testers, collaborating with development teams, and driving continuous improvement in our testing practices.

This is a 3 month contract to hire.

Responsibilities:Leadership and Team Management:Lead and mentor a team of software testers, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality testing.Allocate tasks and manage the workload of the testing team to meet project deadlines and objectives.Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.Test Planning and Execution:Develop and oversee the implementation of comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts.Execute manual and automated tests to identify defects, ensure functionality, and validate performance.Coordinate and perform end-to-end testing, including integration, system, regression, and acceptance testing.DoD Compliance:Ensure all testing processes and procedures comply with DoD standards and regulations.Prepare and maintain documentation required for DoD certification and accreditation.Conduct security and compliance testing in accordance with DoD guidelines.Defect Management:Identify, document, and track software defects using defect management tools.Collaborate with development teams to prioritize and resolve defects.Conduct root cause analysis and verify defect fixes.Test Automation:Develop and maintain automated test scripts using appropriate testing tools and frameworks.Integrate automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.Continuously improve and update automated testing practices and tools.Collaboration and Communication:Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure thorough testing coverage.Provide regular updates on testing progress, results, and issues to project teams and management.Act as the primary point of contact for all testing-related matters.Continuous Improvement:Evaluate and recommend new testing tools and technologies to enhance testing capabilities.Implement process improvements to optimize testing efficiency and effectiveness.Stay current with industry trends and advancements in software testing methodologies.

$90,000 - $125,000 a year
