The Safe Center LI, Inc. (TSCLI) is the leading provider of services to victims of interpersonal violence in Nassau County. The agency provides comprehensive services to victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, human trafficking, and elder abuse. The Safe Center is a thought leader that seeks to develop and implement innovative interventions to meet the multifaceted needs of victims and survivors.
SUMMARY:
The Development/Special Events Intern will provide support to the Development Department with tasks including; administrative duties, marketing, special events and outreach to third parties. The Development/Special Events Intern will work cooperatively with other members of the Development team to fulfill the fundraising goals and activities of The Safe Center LI, Inc. This is a great internship for individuals who would like to learn more about marketing, fundraising and special events with a non-profit organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Prepare mailings, postage and mailing labels for agency collateralUpdate flyers, social media images or graphics for events on CanvaSolicit raffle and auction prizes for special eventsSet up centerpieces and signage for special eventsMake phone calls and maintain donations to the agencyHelp prepare event supplies and materialsSet up basic audio visual for events as neededComplete inventory of suppliesPick up donations as neededSet up raffle and auction baskets for special eventsOther duties/tasks as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with Canva preferredExcellent organizational skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of Microsoft SuiteAbility to multi-task, manage databases, work in a fast-paced team environment
HOURS:
10-14 hours a week required. Hours are flexibleReliable transport requiredPossible nights and weekends to accommodate special events
