Function: Inspection

Position Summary: The Inspector(s) are responsible for performing preliminary, hidden-damage, in-process, finalInspections, and return to service functions on all civil aviation articles received by this repair station in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturer's instructions for continued airworthiness, operator technical data, service bulletins, service letters, airworthiness directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable/approved by the FAA.

Key responsibilities/essential functions include:

Perform inspections of the maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alteration of a powerplant, aircraft or appliance, or a part thereof, received at the repair station.Perform inspections and required inspections in accordance with the methods, standards, and limits required by the accepted or approved data to determine that the work was satisfactorily completed.Inspect major repairs and alterations accomplished to verify the performance was in accordance with the approved or authorized data provided, the usage of proper tools and test equipment and there were no unauthorized deviations.Record inspections performed on maintenance, preventive maintenance, repairs, and alterations in accordance with Company procedures.Conduct inspection tasks as specified on Company job cards, repair and routing travelers recording discrepancies as required.Review corrective action entries, including installed parts/material tags, tools and equipment used, proper signoff and references.Perform receiving inspection on incoming parts, materials, and tooling to ensure Company standards and requirements are met and generate the applicable identification tags.Assist in the development and training of new inspectors.

Required Qualifications

High School or equivalent and basic computer skillsAirframe and/or Powerplant licenseMust possess exceptional attention to detail and proficiency in the inspection methods, techniques, aids, tools, and equipment used in aircraft jet engine maintenance.3 - 5 years experience in aircraft jet engine maintenance. CFM56 experience a plus.Experienced with borescope inspection and interpretation of technical data during the borecope process.Familiar with all regulatory requirements that govern the maintenance of aircraft jet engine.Be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S

Job Demands

Work is performed in a Shop environment and requires the ability to perform extensive standing, driving, walking, and climbing; to lift up to 50lbs. regularly; to manipulate up to 100lbs. with assistance. Must be able to bend, stoop, climb to reach materials, and work in a noisy environment.
