The Measurement Analyst works with upstream and downstream business groups to ensure a complete and timely transfer of required measurement-related information. The Measurement Analyst performs a variety of critical volume processing, balancing, and data integrity tasks to support the goals and initiatives of the Measurement Department and the corporation. The Measurement Analyst uses knowledge, skills, and abilities to identify measurement inaccuracies and applies critical thinking skills to resolve problems and provide accurate measurement information. The Measurement Analyst performs investigative activities to resolve product imbalances on company-owned assets.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Utilize skills and knowledge to analyze measurement data, identify inaccuracies, and work with others to interpret and resolve such inaccuracies.Participate in the investigation and reconciliation of measurement discrepancies, including the investigation of lost and unaccounted-for (L&U) gas and liquid on company-owned assets.Perform data analysis and audits of physical measured points on client assets.Work with downstream business groups and third-party interconnecting companies regarding the exchange of third-party measurement data.Analyze measurement comparison reports and investigate discrepancies outside of defined tolerances.Initiate, track, and finalize requests for measurement adjustments from third-party companies.Complete and/or assist with point requests and point setup in measurement and accounting systems.Provide timely responses to measurement data inquiries and data reports per requests from internal and external customers.Process measurement volume adjustments utilizing guidelines in individual pipeline tariffs, general terms & conditions, and contracts and department procedures.Prioritize workload to ensure that critical locations are reviewed and completed by designated times.Acquire and maintain a working knowledge of applicable industry-related standards and guidelines regarding the measurement of natural gas and liquid products (AGA, GPA, SOX, NAESB, BLM, etc.).Acquire an understanding of the corporations primary business models, including the functions of gathering, transporting, and processing natural gas and liquids.Acquire knowledge regarding the impact of measurement inaccuracies on balancing and the company.Assist with system development, enhancements, system testing, documentation, and training.Assist with the development and implementation of new measurement procedures and processes.Work with the Measurement Manager and Supervisor to develop project plans, set goals, tactics, and timelines.Share technical and procedural knowledge and help train other team members as required.Provide backup support for other team members as needed.Notify management of immediate and potential problems affecting the quality and timeliness of measurement data.Routinely produce grammatically correct reports, summaries, policies, procedures, and memos.Communicate effectively (written and orally) with team members and internal/external customers.Ensure personal conformity and support team decisions, departmental policies and procedures, and all mandated industry standards.Participate in special projects and assignments as delegated by management.Participate in team and department-level meetings.Organize, schedule, and conduct various meetings as required and accurately document meeting notes and action items.Place priority on safety by attending safety meetings, acquiring knowledge of safety guidelines/goals, and working to ensure department and corporate safety guidelines are followed.Duties Specific to the Volume Processing Analyst:Analyze measurement data for completeness, identify trends, discrepancies, and other anomalies using historical trends and knowledge of operational considerations.Research root causes and work with other resources to resolve measurement problems.Utilize the measurement system to process appropriate measurement corrections as required.Analyze measurement data, resolve system validation issues, and address exceptions and errors in the measurement system.Analyze and review measurement data/graphs, trends, and values to identify potential measurement inaccuracies.Review, verify, and resolve discrepancies on assigned field meter calibration inspection reports.Acquire proficient knowledge of various meters, RTUs, calculations, etc., used in the volume determination process.Recognize and help resolve missing data issues that occur in the transfer of data from the metering device into the downstream measurement and accounting systems.Work with management and assigned field technicians to make appropriate volume corrections in the measurement system.Retain accurate and complete documentation for measurement data edits and adjustments per department policies and procedures.Analyze and process measurement information from third-party companies.Understand and follow volume adjustment guidelines set forth in the pipeline tariffs, general terms & conditions, operating agreements, contracts, and department procedures.Actively participate in the research and reconciliation of lost and unaccounted-for products on company assets.Job Requirements:Education:Associate Degree from an accredited college.Previous experience in a related field/industry may be considered in lieu of a degree.Experience / Specific Knowledge:Measurement experience preferred, particularly in data collection, data editing, data analysis, system balancing, and lost and unaccounted-for investigation.Intermediate to advanced proficiency levels for Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, etc.).Well-developed math skills, including the ability to understand and apply mathematical equations, formulas, fractions, percentages, etc.Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:Valid drivers license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).Competencies, Skills, and Abilities:Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with team members, management, and other business groups.Proficiency in applicable software systems/tools required for the job, including Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, etc.).Self-motivated, with personal responsibility for developing proficiencies needed for the role.Effective in setting and meeting
