This Position is for a Donor Tech with a blood services agency location in Oxford, MS. Will assist blood donors in their desire to donate the blood components needed to save lives.
Duties and Responsibilities include: Provide outstanding customer service to donors, with all interactions to be conducted in a friendly, supportive and professional manner; Perform all aspects of registration, donor screening, safety procedures and screening for special procedures, and venipuncture in an accurate and efficient manner; Ability to effectively manage 2 donor beds; Perform accurate computer data entry, and accurate paperwork documentation; Calibrate and maintain cleanliness of equipment before and after collection activities; Assist in loading supplies and setup/breakdown of mobiles; Acquire and maintain current CPR certification; Achieve and maintain an excellent attendance record; Help perform pre-trip inspections on vehicles; Help maintain interior cleanliness of all MBS vehicles; Assist in ensuring that all supplies are packed and ready for mobiles; Operate MBS vehicles on a PRN basis; Attend all required meetings.
Requirements and Qualifications include: High School graduate or equivalent; stable work history, previous experience or training desirable; Basic computer skills, including accurate data entry-typing test will be given via the WIN centers upon our instruction to do so; Valid driver's license w/excellent driving record; Willingness to obtain a CDL within 6 months of hire a definite plus; Ability to meet fluctuating and irregular work schedules with frequent travel, including some overnight travel and out of town mobiles; Ability to work with and through others in a friendly, cooperative, unselfish manner; Ability to work closely and accurately within established guidelines, while sometimes working at a faster than average pace; Aware of and responsive to the needs and concerns of others; Ability to frequently lift and move equipment and supplies, both light and heavy loads (up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 110 lbs with assistance).
