QUALIFICATIONS: 1. College graduate with a B.S. degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing school 2. Minimum of three years experience in the field of Pediatrics 3. Registered Nurse with a license to practice in the state of Alabama 4. Valid driver's license

JOB GOAL:

Plans and coordinates all activities related to health services programs

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Coordinates and implements health screenings mandated by state law 2. Conducts faculty inservices regarding school health issues 3. Performs physical exams for select students and refers to appropriate health care provider 4. Performs dental screenings and teaches dental hygiene in conjunction with dental health month 5. Participates in the functions of the Eligibility Determination committee and submits Individualize Health Plans (IHP) where needed 6. Provides instruction to students on health related issues 7. Implements a program of care for pregnant teens and teenage moms 8. Assists in enforcing and reporting compliance with Alabama law regarding immunization requirements for all students 9. Serves as a liaison between health professionals and the school system regarding the health needs of children, and secures proper medical care when deemed necessary 10. Reports child abuse and neglect to the Department of Human Resources 11. Enforces guidelines of the Communicable Disease policy and Medication policy 12. Administers special medical procedures, when appropriate, to needs of the student 13. Performs other related duties as assigned

* These positions are contracted, not full time. Contracts will be as needed, not to exceed 19 hours per week.

Salary:

$30 per hour
