As an Application Analyst, you will:• Analyze current financial reports for potential improvement or enhancements, allowing them to be more useful and adaptable to future technology changes;• Convert existing reports on legacy technology to more modern technology to continue to offer useful information to constituents using fully supported and more flexible technologies;• Consult on data content and structure improvements;• Other similar projects, as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in technology, Computer Science, Business Information Technology or related field and/or an equivalent level of training and experience• Significant experience in software development• Significant understanding of Microstrategy BI tool or similar system, including developing custom reports and dashboards• Experience implementing processes improvements in a financial setting• Demonstrated experience working with query tools, SAS, SQL, UNIX and/or Access

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Finance systems such as Banner Finance.• Master's degree in technology, Computer Science, Business Information Technology or related field.• Experience with Virginia Tech's financial data both in content and structure.
