POSITION SUMMARYThe Inventory Control Supervisor will oversee all tasks involved in managing inventories of raw material, sub-assemblies, and finished goods. This includes adjustments and cycle counting of all materials to effectively balance supply and demand for product as well as high level inventory analysis. This position will supervise Cycle Counter positions.CORE FUNCTIONS•Responsible for inventory management of material by cycle counts, entering adjustments as required, in Visual.•Responsible for inventory analysis, including in-depth reviews of inventory variance, problem solving, and root cause analysis.•Utilize MRP system to generate inventory reports such as excess and obsolete materials, materials usage, and demand.•Design and develop procedures to assist with purchasing, production, scheduling, inventory control and traffic, which assures the availability of parts, materials, and transportation for an uninterrupted flow of materials for production in accordance with "Just-in-time" delivery schedules, while maintaining minimum inventories.•Supervise Cycle Counter positions.•Review and coordinate Engineering Change Notices with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to ensure smooth transitions.•Responsible for weekly and monthly Bulk Issue counts.•Inform Supply Chain Manager when inventory issues arise and provide recommended solutions.•Communicate effectively with all departments.QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTSEducation and Experience•Bachelor's degree preferred.•5+ years of inventory control or production supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required.Required Licenses•APICS Certification preferred.•Lean or Six Sigma training preferred.Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge•Skilled in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint•Ability to create and display information in table and chart format.•Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals. This position has direct reports.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS•This position is subject to medium work; Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Physical Activities•This position is subject to the following physical activities: climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, and hearing.Visual Acuity•The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.Working Conditions•This position may be subject to a variety of physical conditions, such as environmental conditions occurring both inside and outside, extreme heat, noise, narrow aisles or passageways, oils, atmospheric conditions, and physical hazards including moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical currently, and working on scaffolding and high places.
