OHLA USA seeks a full time Estimator to work out of our Irvine, CA or occasionally our San Diego Satellite Office. The Estimator works within the estimating department under the leadership and guidance of our Chief Estimator.

Responsibilities:Thoroughly investigates the specifications, scope of work and drawings for his/her portion of a bid and develops a complete understanding of the requirements.Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of the contract documents and the potential risks for a project. Makes well-supported recommendations on how to mitigate and price risks.Determine means and method of construction and accurately estimate required labor, equipment, and materials to construct projectAccurately and timely performs takeoffs and clear calculationsConducts field visits to gather relevant data on project site conditions verify production rates and learn new construction techniques. Adjusts bid methods and incorporates this information accordingly during the bidding process.Negotiates the best deal for cost, quality, and delivery using the company buyout procedure.Interfaces extensively with the Contracts department to address any risks or issues with the contract.Helps develop pricing strategies.Coordinate with Business Development, Engineering and Operations teams to get bid priced and submitted on time.Drafts proposals per RFP specifications with detailed pricing and clarifications.Perform detailed takeoff for earthwork, Underground and structures (per specialization)Review and incorporate historical costs and key indicatorsThis list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive exhaustive list and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities at any timeQualifications:5+ years of experience estimating projects valued at over $30M.Thorough knowledge of estimating, engineering, cost tracking systems and site surveying.Solid time management system and demonstrates excellent organizational skills.Demonstrated Document Control CapabilitiesProficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, etc.), plan and spec reading.Experience in Primavera, HeavyBid and Bluebeam would be advantageous.Excellent at multitasking. This position requires working on multiple projects at the same time.Experience in Good Faith Packages and Contract Administration is a plusAbility to comprehend project plans and specificationsAbility to multitask efficiently and effectivelyAbility to work independently and as a teamAbility to work under pressure and meet short deadlines and process projects quicklyClean driving recordExperience with Caltrans, LADWP, Metro, San Diego is a plusTo learn more about OHLA USA, visit our website www.ohla-usa.comCompensation: The base salary rate being offered for this position is USD $120,000.00 per year to USD $150,000.00 per year. Please note that the salary range listed is specific to the role listed in California.
