The RI Hospitality Association is seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) hospitality trainer to help grow the future generation of hospitality professionals by delivering industry certification courses and promoting career growth opportunities.Required Skills & Abilities:Preferred Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent experience in food service or lodging industry.Must be able to earn ServSafe Food Safety Instructor status under the RI Department of Health and the National Restaurant Association requirements.Bilingual English/Spanish required.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Organized and detail-orientated with strong ability to manage multiple projects.Works well independently but also as part of a team.Confidence and ability to influence others, facilitate processes, and coach/advise managers and employees.Understands the need for documentation and accountability.Committed to the ideals of workforce development.Ability to build relationships using tact and professionalism.Must have access to a vehicle for in-state travel.Specific Responsibilities:Deliver effective and efficient instruction and hands-on training to the hospitality workforce.Enhance training resources, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.Develop content and training materials for Spanish-speaking hospitality sector.Provide Kitchen Audits and written Food Safety Plans for Spanish market.Hospitality Training Academy programs including but not limited to:ApprenticeshipBoost Your Service GameCoaching for ManagersServSafe Food SafetyServSafe Food HandlerServSafe AllergensServSafe AlcoholGuest Service GoldKitchen Audits / Written Food Safety PlansCustomer ServiceCommunicationsManage all student data analysis and statistical reporting for training participants.Remain knowledgeable and educated on the Rhode Island Food Code.Monitor and utilize Department of Health Food Code Violation Reports to promote and increase Food Safety Training attendees, Food Audits, and Written Food Plans.Provide written translation from English to Spanish for email newsletters, social media channels, and website.Collaborate with local community organizations and state departments to service the workforce pipeline. Examples of organizations include Community Action Programs, Foster Forward, Genesis Center, Junior Achievement of RI.
