Develops technical solutions to complex problems. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.Develop system requirements.Perform requirements management and verification.Conduct compliance assessments for major design reviews.Execute model-based systems engineering (MBSE).Engage in technical planning and system integration.Verify and validate systems.Use MBSE and engineering tools to:Identify program requirements.Track performance metrics.Manage the systems engineering process.Program DescriptionThis program provides SETA (Systems Engineering Technical Advisor) & SE&I (Systems Engineering & Integration) services to an important Intelligence Community (IC) customer with a focus on critical, assured space communications and supporting IT infrastructure.Engage in all aspects of the systems engineering life cycle starting with CONOPS development.Work directly with users, including those in high-risk environments, to capture their requirements.Collaborate with developers to deliver essential capabilities.Set up and run tests to ensure cutting-edge capabilities meet stringent requirements.Support transition to operations and ensure successful critical operations.Provide important information to support critical decisions by policymakers.Assist client acquisition strategy.Support future technology development and modernization efforts.Provide cyber and information assurance support.Specific Position DescriptionThis position is on FALSTAFF SETA contract with an Intelligence Community (IC) government agency in Chantilly, VA. This is an exciting new opportunity to get in at the start of a seven-year contract where the customer is looking to modernize their systems, including moving into Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) as their primary form of systems engineering.Guide the transformation to MBSE over the next several years.Establish a roadmap for transitioning from traditional document-based systems engineering to MBSE.Conduct systems modeling using SysML and industry-standard MBSE toolsets like Cameo.Help other systems engineers become familiar with MBSE.Migrate all systems engineering functions into the MBSE ecosystem.Goals and Impact:Enable digital engineering to afford more capability and respond rapidly to changing priorities.Create a more efficient and responsive systems baseline.Support the agency's efforts to move into a digital engineering future.Environment:Tight government budgets.Emphasis on staying ahead of global adversaries.Focus on the client's priorities in a budget-constrained environment.
Qualifications:Required:Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Poly.8 to 10 years of relevant with a BS or 6 to 8 years with an MS or 3 to 5 years with a PHd.Technical BS in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical degree.The ability to work well within a team of engineers.Demonstrated success in working with government customers.3 to 5 years of experience using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and processes.Desired:Level 3 (SysML Model Builder Intermediate) or greater INCOSE/OMG supported MBSE certification.5+ years of experience with systems engineering and Commercial/Government acquisition of satellite/ground segment hardware/software.BS in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Computer Science.Experience with agile software development processes.Experience with cloud systems integration.Experience with RF based satellite communications.Experience with digital signal processing.
