Coordinates all activities related to discrete job launch to the manufacturing shop floor, including but not limited to:Interpretation of the daily production schedule to determine job launch timing and sequenceCreation of Oracle Discrete job using production length targets providedHooking orders to minimize process scrap and increase process throughput and make best utilization of raw materialsIdentify opportunities to use WOP inventoryMake fiber selection for orders based on fiber characteristics with emphasis on fiber utilization and scrap minimizationCreation of Production Shop PackManage the incoming fiber storage. Pull and stage fibers for coloring and create coloring discrete as needed to support production loadingManage incoming raw fiber storageCo-ordinate tasks with other Fiber Planners to accomplish daily demandsWork closely with Fiber Planning internal customersParticipate in any related improvement activitiesFollow all safety guidelines required of a Fiber PlannerMaintain all required Safety Training requiredAdhere to and promote the environmental, health, and safety polices of AFLQualifications:

Demonstrated performer with 3+ years of discrete manufacturing experience in cable manufacturingCurrent AFL manufacturing process certification on at least two primary processesCurrent EHS/Quality certification and EHS trainingNo pending, active, or a repetitive history of disciplinary actionDependable with exceptional attendance historyAvailable to work overtime, off shift, and weekends with limited prior notice as well as rotating shifts when requiredPersonal Qualities
