Job DescriptionThis office-based position reports to the Chief Estimator and involves creating estimates for structural steel components using both computer-aided and manual methods. The role requires an understanding of labor standards for these components and includes developing supporting documentation for comprehensive estimates.
Key responsibilities include performing take-offs for various structural steel components and details, reviewing vendor and sub-tier quotes to ensure they align with contract specifications, and producing estimate summaries that outline basic and special requirements, including buy-out items.
Additionally, the role involves assisting in training Estimators in Training.
Requirements
Must have at least five (5) years experience In the structural steel Industry in a similar role
Must understand the means and methods of the steel fabrication and steel erection process
Must have construction experience.
Strong experience reviewing contract drawings and specifications along with other information related to structural steel
Strong computer skills with knowledge of Bluebeam, Outlook, and Microsoft Office
BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline preferred but not necessary
