Business Systems Analyst 3

to work in Miami, Fl. The Business Systems Analyst 3 (H) collects detailed data and provides analysis to assist in the development of technology plans and strategies that enhance overall performance, reduce costs, and increase efficiencies. The Business Systems Analyst 3 (H) analyzes established operations, systems, methods, practices, and procedures to evaluate their effectiveness and ultimately make recommendations for improvements. Additionally, the Business Systems Analyst 3 (H) integrates people, equipment, facilities, and other resources to improve work results, operating efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity. This incumbent assists in the design, delivery, and improvement of in-house software applications, training programs, and related courseware.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS1. Reviews, analyzes and triages application issues and cases. Creates and maintains detailed supportdocumentation of ongoing projects, tests internal application releases, and performs periodic systemmaintenance.2. Provides training for internal users.3. Monitors system availability, working closely with system administrators and business systems analysts.4. Recommends changes in development, maintenance, and system standards. Develops detailed actionplan with goals and target dates and obtains necessary approvals.5. Maintains ongoing communication and rapport with the management team regarding project activity.6. Flowcharts existing processes versus improved flow. Prepares time and cost estimates for projects andproposals. Conducts research for best practice models and benchmarking.7. Applies industrial and management engineering techniques, such as process designs, optimizationmodels, forecasting methodologies, and chain management principles, to improve overall systems.8. Analyzes existing flow of people, activities, and materials, employee work methods and utilization,policies and procedures, staffing levels, supervisory structure, space utilization, supply and demandoptimization methods, forms, equipment, and computerized systems to design improved work systems.9. Designs systems for production and inventory control in buying, storing, handling, and processing ofmaterials and supplies. Designs facilities, management systems, and standard operating procedures.10. Develops management control systems to aid in financial planning and cost analysis.11. Improves productivity through the application of technology and human factors. Designs supply chainmanagement standards across the university.12. Conducts data collection to measure baseline versus improvement, before and after recommendationsare implemented.13. Creates formal presentations for projects and studies, including data collected, methodology used,results obtained, recommendations for improvement, and cost and savings involved.14. Participates in continuing quality improvement activities.15. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC FUNCTIONSWorks closely with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to document and analyze business practices, identify pain points, provide training, and recommend improvements.Facilitates decisions regarding the priority of projects and backlog items for implementation.Creates clear and detailed business requirement documentation, including the creation of process diagrams.Routinely organizes stakeholder meetings and shares meeting minutes, including decisions and action items.Works with departments/leadership to develop business plans including market research, market assessments and projections, needs assessments, and financial projections.Uses strategic planning tools and internal analytic tools with high proficiency.Acts as liaison to other departments, vendors, and other external parties to complete assignments.Leads all aspects of end-to-end business processes including process tools, design, improvement, measurement, analysis and roadmaps for processes.Provides continuous and visible ownership of end-to-end process performance and creates a strategy for future improvement plans, connecting all of the processes and stakeholders.Leads the implementation of quantitative and qualitative metrics and KPIs; creates and maintains performance dashboards to monitor these KPIs across various functions.Proficient usage of interpretation and visualization of tools within the University, allowing for the creation of operational owners that use data to drive decision making. (i.e., Visio)Analyzes user requirements and needs for analytics at all levels of the organization.Serves as a champion for process improvement and as a resource to stakeholders and other staff members.Other duties as assigned.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree in relevant field

Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
