Summary:

The Field Technician provides IT support to remote projects and operating solar sites as well as assisting with IT support in the corporate offices when needed.This position supports hardware, software, and network connections and is responsible for ensuring that Strata Solar Services staff can physically and remotely access the sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Assists network and systems administrators with supporting firewalls, routers, switches and servers at remote locations.Travel to solar farm to help third-party, customer or Strata Solar Services staff to troubleshoot, implement or assist with solar farm hardware and software.Performs network and systems audit and inventory of all solar farm equipment.Assist with troubleshooting SCADA hardware and software on solar farms.Works with manufacture or vendor to deploy systems and troubleshoot issues.Assist with identifying security vulnerabilities on solar farms, mitigating them if necessary.Supports and maintains solar farm data transfer connections using protocols such as FTP, SFTP, OPC UA and others.Supports all field Verizon wireless modems with configuration and troubleshooting.Maintain secure patch levels on remote systems.Creates appropriate change request before installation and configuration of site equipment.Supports and assist mobile jobsite IT kits and Depots. Ex. Verizon modem, APs, cable run, etc.Works with Strata Solar Services Remote Operation Center to ensure remote operation of solar sites.Escalates as needed.Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.Proactively reading service manuals to better understand equipment or software to assist with troubleshooting.Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.Participate in information technology projects as required.Assists in researching, proposing and implementing new technologies and providing training, as needed.Other duties as requiredEducation and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Associates degree (or equivalent) in computer science or related field and 2+ years' experience in desktop support; or any combination of education and experience which would provide the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the job.Proven experience in a computer support role. Ex. Help DeskHands on experience with servers, networking, routing and switching.Experience with firewalls, switches, IoT equipment, network troubleshooting, Windows troubleshooting, ticketing systems and problem resolution.Experience with SCADA systems and equipment a plus.Great at organizing, prioritizing and multitasking.CompTIA or Cisco Certifications are a plus.Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

Work is performed in an office environment and in the fieldTravel of up to 50% can be expected.Must be able to sit, stand, bend, twist and lift 20 pounds
