What We're DoingBecome a part of something meaningful!Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation's defense against ballistic missile attacks.

The GMD Weapon System processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat.

The WorkThe selected Software Engineer, SR will be responsible for software development and support of the GMD Fire Control (GFC) suite of products within the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) program in Huntsville, AL.

The Software Engineer, SR :Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design and development of product software.Ensures software standards are met.Support advanced portions of the lifecycle of software development to include requirements definition, integration, and deployment.Prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish project results with minimal oversight and direction.Must already have an Interim or Active Secret Clearance.

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees.
