Works on a multidisciplinary team to perform advanced nursing functions and healthcare services primarily in infectious disease. Operates under the nurse protocol agreement with delegating physician, counsels patients, orders diagnostic testing, conducts complete physicals and routine examinations, and provides treatment. Recommends and prescribes antiretroviral therapy in accordance with national guidelines and nurse protocol agreement. Educates patients and families on prevention, medical conditions, and use of prescribed medications, including medication adherence. Maintains records and ensures patient confidentiality.As an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse within the Ryan White Clinic at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.Job ResponsibilitiesCoordinates health department clinical programs and activities with local health department Administrator, District Health Office, and State Office staff in accordance with programmatic and funding guidelines. Monitors and evaluates nursing and other clinical programs for the county. Performs assurance activities to ensure that services are adequate, appropriate, and accessible within the community.

Provides supervision of public health staff in the county health department setting.

Organizes, coordinates, and implements community health services according to agency policies, programs, objectives, and resources available in the assigned area of responsibility.

Creates and maintains a high-performance environment characterized by positive leadership and strong team orientation.

Encourages and facilities cooperation, pride, trust, and group identity, fosters commitment and team spirit; works cooperatively with others to achieve goals.

Works and communicates with the public, internal customers and/or external customers to provide information and quality services and/or products targeted to meet customer expectations.

Serves as local public health contact for community agencies and partners in clinical public health services. Minimum QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and/or other education requirements approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certification in the specialty area(s) approved by Georgia Board of Nursing and two (2) years of nursing experience and Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse and Georgia license as a APRN and current certification in specialty area and CPR certification; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level PH Advanced Practice RN 1 (HCP200) or position equivalentPreferred QualificationsFamily Nurse PractitionerExperience in STD/Infectious disease.Annual salary $90,000.
