Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies and/or procedures. Provides services in all programs; immunization, WIC, Family Planning, Women’s Health, Diabetes, Hypertension, STD, TB, etc. to the general public. Assess each patient’s condition, develops a plan of care, provides treatments, educates patients, and makes referrals as appropriate. Provides outreach services and other key preventive health services to the community. The ideal candidate will not only excel in providing high-quality patient care but also possess strong computer skills to effectively manage electronic health records and other digital tools used in modern healthcare.Travel to other health departments or clinics within District 10 may be required.As a Registered Nurse within the Oglethorpe County Department at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.Job ResponsibilitiesUnder broad supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies and/or procedures. Focuses on the prevention of illness, injury or disability, the promotion of health and maintenance of the health of populations. Cares for populations with special needs during disasters/emergencies and biological and chemical protocols. Provides treatments for sexually transmitted infections, performs well-women exams including pap smears, pelvic exams, breast exams, and provides preventive and maintenance care to patient/families consistent with the care plan and nurse protocols. This position will also administer medications to include (Birth control, STI treatments, TB medications and vaccines). This position requires the ability to function as part of a team as well as the ability to provide direct client services in a clinic setting. Minimum QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registration Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification.Note: No experience required.Preferred QualificationsAssociate’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND One year of nursing experience AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification.ORBachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university AND current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND CPR certificationAnnual salary $60,000.
