UIC has over 300,000 alumni, and is one of the largest employers in the city of Chicago.Description:The Associate Director of Specialty Pharmacy Services is responsible for assuring oversight, operations coordination, quality and cost effectiveness of pharmacy services provided by specialty pharmacy programs. This position directs assistant directors, coordinators and support personnel and works with them to assure optimal outcomes and works closely with the Director of Ambulatory Pharmacy Services in developing the strategic direction for the specialty pharmacy. The candidate for this position will be expected to identify and lead the development, implementation, monitoring, and process improvement of new and current programs, including the application and refinement of the pharmacy practice model and oversee the quality and outcomes programs required to maintain Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC) and Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) specialty pharmacy accreditation requirements. The candidate will also be responsible for completing other duties as assigned, including forecasting, and creating the annual operating and personnel budgets, and optimizing reimbursement.The academic responsibilities of the clinical faculty member (Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) include the provision of didactic lectures and precepting entry level Doctor of Pharmacy students, PGY1 residents and PGY2 residents. Scholarly activities, including presentations and publications, are an expectation as well. Clinical Pharmacist duties include working closely with pharmacy technicians, students, medical staff, and patients in providing patient-centered clinical pharmacy services.We are looking for a motivated compassionate individual who is a team player, possesses strong oral and written communication skills demonstrates flexibility and ability to work independently and adapt to a changing work environment top notch time management and organizational skills, and is committed to excellent patient care.Salary Range : $160,000 to $195,000Qualifications:Minimum QualificationsGraduate of an Accreditation College of Pharmacy (ACPE) accredited College of Pharmacy with a PharmD or equivalent terminal pharmacy degree.Licensed as a registered pharmacist by the state of Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation or eligible for Illinois licensure by start date.Minimum of 3 years' ambulatory pharmacy experience required, preferably in an academic health setting.Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in an ambulatory pharmacy.Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary, progressive ambulatory specialty pharmacy services.Effective oral and written communication skills.Preferred QualificationsPost Graduate Year 1 (PGY1) residency and Post Graduate Year 2 (PGY2) residency in health-system pharmacy administration and leadership or equivalent experience.Advanced education in business, public health and/or health administration with demonstrable experience in budget preparation and analysis, financial operations management, personnel, quality functions and the professional aspects of pharmacy practice.Comprehension of the 340B drug pricing program and leadership experience in specialty and infusion pharmacy.The University of Illinois System is an equal opportunity employer, including but not limited to disability and/or veteran status, and complies with all applicable state and federal employment mandates.
