UIC has over 300,000 alumni and is one of the largest employers in the city of Chicago.Description:Position SummaryThe Dept of Pathology, at the Univ of IL Chicago, located in a large metropolitan area, is seeking full-time Assistant Professor of Clinical Pathology/Physician Surgeon to assist the department with the following responsibilities:Under direction and supervision, teach, train, and advise medical students, residents, and fellows in fields of Pathology, and specifically Dermatopathology and Hematopathology.Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide clinical patient care in the specialties of oncologic and non-oncologic Dermatopathology and Hematopathology to a diverse patient population in the hospital. Participate and collaborate on other sub-specialty diagnostic services, such as molecular pathology, digital pathology, HLA, and informatics.Conduct medical science research, publish and present scientific research findings, and perform University service and administrative duties as assigned.Some periodic travel may be required for conferences, professional development, and/or local travel in between worksite locations.Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.Qualifications:Minimum QualificationsThis position minimally requires a Medical degree (MD) or its foreign equivalent, one (1) year of Dermatopathology fellowship training and one (1) year of Hematopathology fellowship training, a valid IL med license or eligibility for an Illinois medical license, & board certification or eligibility for certification in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology.
