** Ceres Environmental Services**** IT Support Specialist**Houston, TX 77064**Job Summary:**IT technical support is mainly responsible for the smooth running of the Ceres computing systems and ensuring that our users get the maximum benefits from them. The Support person is responsible for managing endpoints (computers, cellphones, tablets), user software (Adobe, MS Office, Outlook, Ring Central), and logging tickets in the Jira Service Desk system.**Duties and Responsibilities:*** Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications* Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks* Talk staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face, over the phone, or through Video Conferencing to help set up systems or resolve issues* Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults* Replace parts and hardware as required* Provide support, including procedural documentation and training if needed* Follow diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system* Support the roll-out of new applications* Set up new users' accounts, configure profiles and deal with password issues* Respond within agreed time limits to call-outs* Work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)* Prioritize and manage many open Jira tickets at one time* Rapidly establish a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, such as software developers* Test and evaluate new technology and software**Minimum Education and Experience:*** Associates or bachelors degree in computer science or a related field.* 1+ years of experience in a technical support role.* Certifications are preferred, but not required.* Working knowledge and expertise with a variety of software, hardware, and applications.* Willingness to solve complicated problems and see projects through to completion.* Analytical skills to study problems and records and identify solutions.* Team-oriented attitude to help other colleagues and departments with technical problems.* Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills.* Ability to manage time and effectively prioritize numerous projects at one time.**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:*** The ability to think logically and analytically* A good understanding of how software and operating systems work* Excellent listening and questioning skills, combined with the ability to interact confidently with clients to establish what the problem is and explain the solution* The ability to work well in a team* Problem solving skills* A strong customer focus* The ability to prioritize your workload* Attention to detail**Physical Demands:**While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
