The Role
The Systems Engineer is responsible for developing, engineering, and deploying technical solutions within a dedicated network. This individual will work within a small, mission focused team of network and systems engineers to implement technical solutions to challenging collaboration and data protection problemsDuties:
Develop/ Test/ Scale/ Deploy/ Maintain technology solutionsBuild solutions with a focus on information security principalsWork extensively with Microsoft technologies and virtualization platformsMonitor networksDemonstrate the following:
Ability to assess emerging technologies, determine their impact on corporate systems and incorporate them into technical plansOutstanding interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communications skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills; demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations, determine course of action and act promptly and effectively when problems arise.
Maintain appropriate technical training to ensure skills and methodologies are kept current with evolving technologyPerforms other duties as assigned at the direction of Project ManagementTravel: 10% or less travelRequired Skills
Minimum of six (6) years of experience specific to the skills identified in a position's Qualification Summary, plus the Education qualification.Bachelor's degree related to the specific skill from an accredited college or university, preferred. Relevant work experience related to the labor category may be substituted for the degree requirement.Ability to travel on an infrequent, but as needed basisHands-on experience with modern server operating systems and virtualization technologiesHands-on experience with Cloud platformsHands-on experience with collaboration and ticketing toolsDemonstrated understanding of high availability technologies and implementation/deployment conceptsHands-on experience with networking and network security technologiesDemonstrated experience with managing engineering projects (i.e., design, build, deploy)Hands-on experience with scripting languages such as, Bash, PowerShell, Python, etc.Hands-on experience implementing IT and Cyber Security best practicesDesired Skills (Optional)
