Minibus Driver for our beloved Morris the Minibus!

City of Chelmsford Mencap is urgently seeking volunteer minibus drivers, to transport our lifelong learning students to and from Mencap Centre.You will be part of a team of drivers who drive on days convenient to them. On your chosen day, you will need to be available for a couple of hours either/both morning and mid-afternoon.In response to the pandemic, CCM has implemented infection prevention and control measures including limiting passenger numbers, installing protective screens around the drivers cab and providing PPE; to assist us with this, you will be required to wear PPE, adhere to protocols and clean frequently touched surfaces in the bus after every journey.Being able to access our lifelong learning service is vital to our service users, especially during this challenging time, and helps to ensure they are healthy and happy.City of Chelmsford Mencaps staff and volunteers are committed to helping everyone with a learning disability reach their potential; we would love you to be part of our team!**Skills**Category D1 on your driving license.Confidence and demonstrable skill in driving larger vehicles.Good communication skills, a basic understanding of health and safety, and a sense of humour are vital.Experience of supporting people with a learning disability and alternative forms of communication are desirable but not essential.* AccessibilityParking is limited.* Data Protection policy* DBS check requiredEnhanced* Equal opportunities policy* Expenses reimbursed* Health and Safety Policy* Ongoing support* Suitable for under 18s* Training providedSupport during placement* Volunteer induction* Volunteer policy* Volunteers covered by insurance* Written role description**Location**This opportunity is available in: **Chelmsford**
