Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Indirect Tax Accountant with a strong background in international tax to join their dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing indirect tax compliance and planning on a global scale. This role requires a deep understanding of VAT, GST, and other indirect taxes across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:

Compliance and Reporting:

Ensure timely and accurate preparation, filing, and payment of VAT, GST, and other indirect tax returns for various international jurisdictions.

Tax Planning and Strategy:

Develop and implement tax-efficient structures and strategies to minimize indirect tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations.

Advisory and Support:

Provide expert advice and support to internal stakeholders on indirect tax matters, including transaction structuring, supply chain management, and contract review.

Audit and Risk Management:

Manage and coordinate indirect tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, ensuring all documentation and responses are accurate and timely.

Process Improvement:

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of indirect tax compliance and reporting.

Training and Development:

Mentor and train junior tax staff, providing guidance on technical tax matters and professional development.

Research and Analysis:

Stay current with changes in international tax laws and regulations, conducting research and analysis to assess their impact on the company’s operations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with finance, legal, and business units to ensure alignment on tax strategies and compliance.

Qualifications:

Education : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification is highly preferred.

Experience : Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in indirect tax, with significant exposure to international tax issues is required.

Technical Skills : In-depth knowledge of VAT, GST, and other indirect taxes across multiple jurisdictions. Proficiency in tax software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).

Analytical Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations and data.

Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.

Attention to Detail : High level of accuracy and attention to detail in tax calculations and reporting.

Team Player : Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a proactive and collaborative approach.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a multinational corporation or public accounting firm.

Master’s degree in Taxation or related field.

Experience with tax technology and automation solutions.

Job Style:

This is a

hybrid

role, requiring the Senior Indirect Tax Accountant to work onsite 3 days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely the remaining days.
