A public accounting firm on Long Island is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join their staff as their new Tax Manager. In this role, the Tax Manager will review tax returns for complex individual, trust, partnership, corporate, and foreign tax clients.
Responsibilities
The Tax Manager will:Review tax returns for complex individual, trust, partnership, corporate, and foreign tax clientsWork with tax partner to ensure best practices for tax processes, including technologyBuild new and develop existing multiple client relationshipsDeal directly with client's attorneys, taxing agents, bankers, and other third-partiesResearch tax issues and consult with partners on various client-related mattersHandle federal and state and local tax auditsTrain and supervise staff, evaluate staff work, and provide performance reviewMentor and motivate staffAssist and participate with the practice development and firm managementNetwork to develop a list of contacts and begin cultivating relationshipsComplete other duties as assignedQualifications
Bachelor's degree in AccountingCPA license8+ years of public accounting experience in taxTax Audit experienceProficiency in CCH Axcess productsBusiness knowledge and understanding of a variety of industriesKnowledge of QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Word, and OutlookSignificant supervisory experienceExcellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsResearch proficiencyExcellent time management skillsDesired skills
