The Business Analyst's role is to plan, design, develop, and launch efficient business and operations systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes. This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems

requirements. The Business Analyst is also responsible for generating and compiling reports based on the findings, complete with probable causes and possible solutions to systems issues. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT system investments. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of technical expertise and clear insights into current business practices.

Essential Functions

Communicates effectively with multiple levels of management and with various user groups and stakeholdersServes as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions that meet user and business needsEvaluates business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutionsAnalyzes existing systems and business models and understands software development lifecycleLeads ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies. Leads design sessions in prototyping new systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flowIdentifies options for potential solutions and assessing them for specific technical and business suitabilityConducts requirements analysis and prepare specific proposals for modified or replacement systemsWorks closely with the development team and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfactionStays up-to-date on the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems.Reviews and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systemsSupports users on change control and system updatesHelp Quality Assurance teams to execute test plans and coordinate User Acceptance TestingConstantly seeks out areas of inefficiency and seizes opportunities to document, analyze, and redesign business processes and systemsEffectively communicate their insights and plans to cross-functional team members and managementDocument various artifacts such as Project Initiation Document (PID), Business Requirements Document (BRD)Functional Requirements Document (FRD), and UAT test casesPerforms other duties as assignedGathers critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and producing useful reportsProvides leadership, training, coaching, and guidance to junior staffEnsures solutions meet business needs and requirementsIdentifies and establishes scope and parameters of systems analysis in order to define outcome criteria and measure-taking actionsCollaborates in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applicationsConducts research on software solutions to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.Other duties as assigned
