Job Overview
We are seeking a Physicians Assistant to provide office-based care within our Acute Care clinical model. This successful clinic allows a 'same day/next day' appointments model for patients with urgent urological conditions. Most common diagnoses are: kidney stones, hematuria, infection, urinary retention, etc. The Physicians Assistant will decide upon intervention and follow up needs in collaboration with the supporting physicians. Involvement in procedural care is available and encouraged.
Duties and Responsibilities
Demonstrate a high degree of general medical and urological knowledge and exercise independent judgment as appropriateAssess the patient's medical conditions (Ex: kidney stones, hematuria, infection, urinary retention, etc.) by completion of a urological examinationDocument appropriately and communicate with the appropriate physician in a timely manner as required, including, but not limited to: evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, treatment notes, and other reports as requestedOrder and evaluate laboratory, radiological and diagnostic testsPrescribe, monitor, and adjust medications and devices based on the patient's medical conditionDevelop and perform treatment plans in accordance with established protocolsOrder physical therapy, occupational therapy and/or home health care as appropriatePerform acute office-based procedures as trainedRequirements
Required License/Experience/Skills
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant ProgramLicensure in the state of Virginia
