Operations Specialist

River Valley Credit Union, a growing and thriving financial cooperative in Central Iowa, is seeking an energetic, experienced individual to join its team.Experience within depository institutions and an alignment with the credit union philosophy of "people helping people" is required.The ideal candidate will have a strong skill set related to back-office operations and accounting, and a desire to continue learning and growing.ResponsibilitiesProcess and balance daily postings of ACH, Share Draft, Mobile and Debit Card transactions.Record and balance all unprocessed items.Verify the accuracy of postings and resolve any discrepancies.Post overdraft items and issue Stop Payments.Send and post Wire transactions.Balance associated General Ledger accounts.Return all Government Reclamations.Process Garnishments and Levies.Complete Account Verification requests.Maintain and post Accounts Payable items for the Credit Union. Research and resolve any discrepancies.Assist Management in the generation of financial reports.Maintain confidentiality of all member and Credit Union information.Assist other Credit Union personnel as directed, maintaining a positive and professional attitude.May assist in opening and closing Credit Union as directed.All other duties as assigned.QualificationsAssociates Degree or equivalent. Preference given to a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.5 or more years of Credit Union or Bank work-related experience. Prior back-office experience preferred.
