POSTDOCTORAL POSITION - Cancer BiologyThe Ellisen laboratory studies fundamental mechanisms of tumorigenesis and their associated therapeutic implications in human cancer. Topics of major interest include breast cancer, novel therapeutic approaches including antibody-drug conjugates, and early cancer pathogenesis. Our work has identified fundamental mechanisms of chromatin reprogramming in tumorigenesis ( Cancer Cell
2017, 31:35), and discovered multiple novel genetic breast cancer drivers ( Nature
2017, 547:55;
Cancer Discovery
2018, 8:336). Our studies of aggressive breast cancers have revealed a genomic signature of homologous recombination deficiency ( Nature Genetics
2017, 49:1476), and we have a deep interest in the genetic pathogenesis ( Science Advances
2020, 6:5), single-cell architecture and drug resistance of triple-negative breast cancer ( Nature Comms
2017, 9:3588;
Cancer Discovery
2021, 11:2436;
Cancer Cell
2021, 39:1562). Our research is enhanced through a network of expert collaborators in computational biology and high-throughput analysis. Our ability to work at the interface of tumor biology, genetics and therapeutic application is strongly supported by the basic and clinical research infrastructure of the MGH Cancer Center and Harvard.The position provides a rich intellectual environment, with extensive mentorship and learning opportunities supported by the large research communities of the MGH and Harvard Medical School. The candidate must have recently received a Ph.D. degree in the biological sciences, and must be highly motivated and well versed in basic molecular biology and biochemical techniques.
