Job Description
This position aims to strategically manage and optimize the College's admissions communication strategies, focusing on maximizing the effectiveness of the department's two primary systems, Banner and Slate. This position ensures that all communications are consistent, impactful, and precisely aligned with the institution's enrollment objectives. The Specialist leads the development and execution of targeted communication plans, leveraging data analytics to enhance engagement and improve prospective student interactions throughout the admissions funnel. Other duties include producing comprehensive reports to guide executive decision-making and supporting admissions events. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position and includes a comprehensive benefits package offering medical, dental and vision coverage; generous paid time off; tuition assistance; and retirement savings. Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States, as the College does not offer Visa sponsorship for this position.
Required Education
Associate's degree in Communications, Marketing, or Data Analysis.
Required Experience
Minimum of two years' experience in higher education Admissions or CRM and data management.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, concise, and compelling messaging for diverse audiences.Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, & ExcelAbility to leverage data analytics to optimize communication strategies, enhance engagement, and improve prospective student interactions throughout the admissions funnel.Experience with email marketing platforms, social media management tools, and other digital communication technologies.Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate insights into actionable communication strategies.Demonstrated experience in developing and executing communication strategies in an educational or similar environment.Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in planning and executing events, particularly within an educational or admissions context.Bachelor's degree or Masters Degree.Proficiency in using graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) to create visually appealing materials for various communication channels.Experience with email marketing software (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact) to develop and manage targeted email campaigns.Knowledge and experience in managing social media platforms, including content creation, scheduling, and engagement strategies.Hours per Week
40 - 100%
General Weekly Work Schedule
Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Final schedule to be determined by the supervisor.
