We offer more than 80 affordable degree and certificate programs to nearly 2,000 full-time and 7,500 part-time students, as well as a wide variety of noncredit continuing education courses to nearly 11,000 students per year.Job DescriptionThe purpose of this position is to provide innovation, leadership, and management of career technical education, workforce training, and continuing education with the mission, vision and values of the institution.This will be completed through leadership and vision in strategic planning for the area to include evaluating industry and community gaps to identify program needs, determine the program cost/ratio benefit for the students and the college, and program assessment. This position oversees four directors: workforce and contract training, strategic planning and partnerships, community education, adult literacy and ESL, and the coordinator of WCE operations.Reporting to the Vice President for Academics, Workforce & Continuing Education duties include, but are not limited to, leading and managing Directors and their staffs; developing business relationships with leaders of Harford County businesses, agencies, and organizations; using data to identify and assess opportunities and implementing new programming that is responsive to government, corporate and community needs; sunsetting existing programs that do not generate sufficient return on investment; and expanding career technical education delivery modalities, focusing on high-quality online learning. Additionally, this position works with deans and faculty to formalize existing and create pathways to careers that integrate credit and career technical education courses. This role will be responsible for creating a comprehensive business plan for workforce and career technical education in alignment with the college's 2030 strategic plan.Other duties include managing and planning budgets; keeping HCC leadership informed as to business trends, best practices and innovations needed to maintain and grow HCC's critical role in workforce development; managing grants; and performing other duties as assigned, including active engagement in College life by serving on committees, task forces, and participating in College events.This is an exempt, administrator position requiring an annually reviewed contract.
