Job Summary

The lead office assistant, student employee is responsible for assisting residential life staff in the management of residential hall genius hubs, including the coordination of daily operations, promotion of student engagement and development, and accountability of genius hub staff.

Job ResponsibilitiesAssists with student check-in and check-out according to established proceduresAssists in managing daily schedules for genius hub staff, including assisting in shift changesSupports the daily operations of the main Residential Life office and related administrative functionsSupports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellenceModels, supports, and holds others accountable to the University's values - integrity, dedication, excellence, creativity, and teamworkAssists in managing building rosters and coordinating room changesAssists in the creation of Residential Hall Association proposalsEnsures completion of building maintenance and inventoryMaintains office hours to meet with residentsAssists in training and interview processesRefers students experiencing emotional, academic, or other hardships to appropriate resources, as neededAttends residence hall events and engages with residentsUnderstands University procedures and offers appropriate referral resources in order to effectively respond to student questions/concerns or to provide general informationAttends scheduled residential life meetings and assists in leading genius hub staff meetingsCollaborates with appropriate staff to resolve maintenance, furniture inventory, and safety issuesHelps facilitate the planning and execution of annual residential life events and related processesMaintains an accurate and complete inventory of genius hub suppliesAssists residential life staff in maintaining accountability by providing additional oversight for office assistant positionsAssists residential life staff in the mediation of residential issuesUnderstands, supports, and enforces University policiesReports and assists with responding to policy violationsJob may require other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.

Currently enrolled at Lindenwood UniversityPrimary residence in campus housingGood academic and financial standing with the UniversityMinimum of one year related residential life experience preferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
