JOB DESCRIPTION:
An underground utilities, plumbing specialist is responsible for the excavation, installation and (or) maintenance of water main and service lines. We are looking to fill
multiple positions on this crew requiring varying levels of related knowledge: from general labor to pipe-fitter, to equipment operator.
Excavation may be accomplished using backhoe, mini-excavator or by utilizing hand tools. Knowledge of piping and associated fittings and water meters is essential.
Job Requirements
General plumbing work, able to run heavy equipment (backhoe, mini-excavator, skid-steer).Consistent dependability (must have good attendance)Lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds, and up to 90 pounds of material with assistanceStamina to walk, stoop, kneel, reach, climb and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditionsCarry own toolsAbility to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedulesAbility to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.Job duties include:
Digging to locate and fix underground water leaks and drain pipesInstalling water piping to include underground PVC, cast iron and ductile iron pipe for water service lines.Plumbing experience and plumbing license is not required, but beneficial.Possible on-call response necessary (incentive pay)Required experience
Underground Piping/Plumbing (2 years preferred)Excavating around utilitiesKnowledge of Missouri One Call (Dig Rite) utility markings (preferred)Required license or certification
Valid driver licenseOSHA 10-hr Construction Card (will train)Compensation
