SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking a Filing Analyst. This role is a key contributor to the success of state level filings for new products and price changes. The filing analyst will work closely with product development, actuarial and underwriting to devise and execute successful state level filing strategies; will be responsible for executing and monitoring all filings (rate, rule, form and underwriting guidelines) for both personal and commercial lines; and will also play a role in the development of rule manuals in personal lines. This is an exciting role at the forefront of SageSure's marketplace work.
What you'd be doing:Prepare, submit, and track insurance rate, rule, form, and underwriting guideline filings to state regulatory authorities working under minimal directionCollaborate with internal stakeholders, including actuarial, product development, compliance and leadership to gather necessary information for filings and to ensure alignment with regulatory requirementsConfidently identify when additional support/help is needed from internal stakeholders in order to complete submission of the filingEfficiently assign insurance department objections/comments to the appropriate stakeholder for handling; monitor the progress of those responses against imposed regulatory deadlinesMonitor SERFF to verify filings are being managed, follow-up with regulators as necessary for statusAssume primary responsibility for developing and maintaining a strategy for internal document management of shared artifacts, utilizing SharePoint file structure (this will evolve when and if tool set changes)Monitor filing submissions, objections, and responses from competitors to understand any trends that can assist with SageSure's submissionsWork on assigned rule manuals for creation and maintenanceWe're looking for someone who has:
3-5 years of recent experience in state filings and/or regulatory compliance at an admitted property & casualty insurance carrierStrong understanding of insurance principles and regulations, particularly in the property and casualty sectorExceptional diligence and accuracy in documentation and ability to operate with minimal directionEffective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact confidently with internal and external stakeholdersAbility to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize workload effectivelyStrong attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to communicate with regulatory bodies as well as internal personnel at various levelsHighly preferred candidates also have:
Experience working in SERFF (Systems for Electronic Rates and Forms Filings)Proficiency in Microsoft office products, specifically Excel & WordExisting contacts with state insurance departments and/or the ability to successfully develop those strategic relationshipsExperience drafting and editing rule manuals for P&C productsAnalytical and critical thinking skills
