The Senior Associate is responsible for reviewing tax returns and completed working papers for assigned clients. They work closely with team members on all phases of project and engagement management for multiple clients. Senior Associates act as strategic consultants by providing advice and helping organizations and individuals understand various tax implications. Senior Associates provide exceptional client service as a trusted business advisor.

Work as part of a team reviewing tax strategies, ensuring tax compliance and increasing post tax profits to achieve the best corporate and individual tax practices for our clientsCoordinate tax related projects and review prepared tax returns, working with a variety of entities such as corporations, partnerships, estates, trusts and non-profits across various industriesReview data input and resolve technical tax issues; respond to inquiries from the IRS and other taxing authoritiesProvide guidance to Tax Interns and Associates in the scanning and preparation of tax returns; make recommendations on return preparation regarding accuracy, efficiency and tax saving opportunitiesPrepare tax returns for more complex income tax clients and interact closely with clients regarding compliance and consulting mattersAnswer client calls and emails in a timely manner and with a solution-oriented approachEnsure client deliverables are completed within expectationsIdentify and introduce other firm services based on client needs and discovered opportunitiesKeep up to date with local and national business and economic issuesParticipate in continuous learning activities and active research to improve and develop technical expertise; apply learned conceptsCollaborate with leader to identify opportunities for efficiencies and proactive engagement managementPeople Management/Relationships

Bachelor's degree in Accounting; graduating students should have 150 credit hours and a GPA of 3.0 or aboveSuccessful progress towards CPA licensure, if not already obtained2+ years' experience tax preparation and/or consulting experience preferredPrior experience in supervising staff and leading projects requiredUnderstanding of general accounting and tax principles and willingness to learn, drive for self-improvementWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products and technologically-savvySelf-motivated and willingness to enhance accounting and advisory knowledgeExcellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projectsEssential FunctionsMust be able to remain in a stationary position as neededThe person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office and at client offices to access file cabinets, office machinery etc.Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printerAbility to communicate in a professional manner and exchange information with internal and external actors as neededAbility to lift/carry up to 20 poundsAbility to work outside of normal business hours and weekends as neededAbility to travel to local and non-local clients as needed, overnight travel may be requiredThis job description is subject to change at any time and employee will be given additional responsibilities as assigned

Salary Range:$75,000 - $85,000
